Old programmes/fanzines
Are old West Ham programmes/fanzines worth anything?

Just found hundreds of them in my mum’s loft. From the 90s, mostly.

Re: Old programmes/fanzines
Sven that's correct and Marc gave up doing OTT due to personal reasons, after that the game was up as OLAS was only full of contributors ranting

I thought the FAH bloke stopped because he was moving to America
But I may have made that up or confused him with someone that WAS moving to America

There's somebody flogging a FAH on eBay today for £49.50 plus postage.
That's just for one copy. Are they that rare?

Round my mums house I've got an England v West Germany official programme my uncle gave it to me years ago it's in good nick but the starting 11 of both teams are filled in with ink pen that lowers the value by quite a bit apparently.
It's worth about a oner I think? Obviously not worth selling.
Great West Ham bit of memorabilia to have and pass down to future hammers.

Got rid of box loads of mine ... ended up just giving them to local charity shops.... had loads of fanzines that I just binned... the only one I kept was the last one of FAH?? where North Bank Norman hung himself on the front cover... was this just after the bond scheme??

Re: Old programmes/fanzines
Was it a chap called Mark who used to do FAH?

Never knew that game was the last time it was made, was a cracking fanzine that and I haven't seen him over there for years, so figured he'd given it all up.

Got home after that forest game to see a police car outside my house, to tell us they'd found the bodies of my uncle and cousin after they'd been missing a few weeks. Why I always remember macca's hatrick.

Alas programmes are only good for sentiment and fires nowadays.

I've got a copy of United UTD somewhere, joint West Ham, Dundee Utd fanzine...can imagine the tens of thousands who used to wait for the next edition with excitement levels off the radar.

Sitting on a gold mine...

What a shit day that was?

End of the South Bank

Got relegated

Frankie's last game, signed off with a hat trick

Met a mate outside, found out his stunning bird had left him, and he wasn’t going anymore because of the all seater move

And the last ever FAH, with a cartoon of him hanging himself.

Re: Old programmes/fanzines
I’ve got the final Fortunes Always Hiding tucked away somewhere. There were only 17 editions I believe.
Infinitely superior to that other fanzine that continued on until we left UP.

I guess the internet killed Sportspages I guess.
Always used to pop in there on a late Saturday afternoon if we were away & they’d update the scores on a chalkboard

Fortunes was a quality fanzine...it looked very slick compared to most of the others when it switched to colour print.

It was sad to see Sportpages close...it was next to Macari's Guitar Shop in that little mews.

Record Shops, Ed's Diner, Coach and Horses pub, Bar Italia, Patisserie Valerie (the original branch before it became a shitty chain) Ronnie Scotts, The Marquee, Pool Hall in basement - that is the bare minimum - I could go on ;-)

a whole days and nights entertainment

FAH was a revelation to me as a ten year old avid reader. Funny as fuck, I’d love to see if there were any copy’s for sale or to view online

Re: Old programmes/fanzines
eusebiovic that brought back some memories, I used to love popping into Sportspages and browse some of the fanzines from other Clubs, only Fortunes came close to being up their with humour

Re: Old programmes/fanzines
I've got loads of Fortunes Always Hiding as well as a fair few Over Land and Sea

I loved popping into Sportpages bookshop off Charing Cross Road...Soho/Covent Garden used to be so much fun.

Re: Old programmes/fanzines
I used to collect them from every game and ground I went to going back to the 70's, I must have had over 1000 in my loft, then one day last summer the Mrs told me to sort out the loft as I had too much junk up there and I ended throwing virtually the whole lot out

I stopped buying them 5 years or so ago because social media makes them out of date and the cost of almost a fiver for something that I rarely read was a waste

Anything after1960 you're not going to get very much for them unless you happen to have a specific rare game.

Re: Old programmes/fanzines
My brother had nearly every home programme from.1970-82.

When he moved house he decided to get rid of them.

Rather than offer them to me, he took them down the charity shop.

CUNT.
